1. Do I need to be a certain age to qualify?
All applicants who are not more than 30 years of age (as of 31st March, 2017) are eligible to apply. There is no minimum age barrier.
2. Should I be fluent in Hindi?
In addition to a professional command over English, Associates must be able to read and understand Hindi well enough to work with academic texts and government notices as well as to talk to all stakeholders/officials in a professional capacity.
3. I am a student currently. Can I apply?
As per our eligibility criteria, you must have completed your undergraduate degree and have one year of full- time work experience OR have a postgraduate degree or diploma in any discipline. Neither summer or winter internship, or any other part-time internship will count towards fuflilling the work experience egilibility criteria. If you have not received your postgraduate results at the time of applications, then any offer extended is conditional to still fulfilling the eligibility crtieria at the time of start of programme.
1. How do I apply?
Applicants should register at the portal provided here and submit the online application. There are no paper forms to complete and no application fee.
2. What is the selection process?
Recruitment, selection and initial orientation, mentoring and monitoring during the programme will be conducted by Ashoka University. There will be a three stage selection process which

- Personal Interview with a panel of experts
3. Is there a difference between Round 1 and Round 2?
Round 1 ends on the 15th of March while Round 2 ends on the 31st of March. The earlier you apply, the faster you wil hear back from us regarding your application.
1. What are the dates of the programme?
CMGGA 2016 began on 1st July 2016 and runs through early July 2017. CMGGA 2017 will begin on 15th June 2017 and will run through early July 2018. Fellows are expected to remain committed to the programme for the entire duration.
2. What is the time commitment required for CMGGA?
This is a full-time paid opportunity and Associates are required to discharge their duties at the district from Monday to Saturday and also be present at the knowledge forums and seminars that will be conducted.
3. Do Associates receive vacation time?
Associates will have the three national public holidays off (Independence Day, Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, and Republic Day) as well as any State holidays published by the Government of Haryana. In addition, Associates can also avail of a maximum of 14 leave days over the year, with not more than 3 days leave taken consecutively. We encourage Associates to not take any leaves during forums and trainings as those are critical to the success of their projects.
4. What stipend and facilities will Associates be entitled to?
Associates will get a stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month, including Rs. 5,000 for communications and office expenses such telephone, internet, printing, stationery etc. Applicable taxes will be deducted at source from this amount. In addition to the monthly stipend, travel costs will be reimbursed to a maximum of Rs. 30,000 per month. Accommodation in the assigned district and in Ashoka University during all training periods will be provided to all associates.
5. How long is the programme?
All CMGGAs will be selected for one year, initially. After the completion of the first year, the Associates and the Programme team can both take a call on extending the Associate’s tenure by another year based on interest and performance over the year.
6. If selected, can I continue to work with other organizations?
The CMGGA programme is a full-time opportunity. Associates are prohibited from receiving any salary from any source other than from the CMGGA programme. If outside activity that is uncompensated conflicts with your official duties and commitments, then you will not be able to continue that outside activity.
7. Where will I be based out of?
Selected Associates will spend their year in their appointed districts where they will work closely with the Deputy Commissioners and other district officials.
8. As an Associate, what will be my main work areas?
In the districts, Associates will be responsible to ensure success of the flagship government initiatives and to execute regular mandates received from the CMO. Associates will also pilot innovative scalable solutions to address various issues at the district level.
